Unfortunately, arranging a special outdoor event is a more effective drought-breaker than the Indian (Native American) rain dance, which is a shame when people have put in so much time and effort. In what has been a generally dry year so far there has been at least some precipitation on 22 of 37 Saturdays.
The route to Reepham station followed a lot of lanes by way of West Beckham, Baconsthorpe, Briston, Craymere, Burnthouse, Guestwick and Kerdiston. Following cake and tea/coffee, the road back to Pretty Corner in time for mountain biking in the woods was through Booton, Cawston, Abel Heath, Ingworth, Calthorpe, Wickmere, Thurgarton and Sustead.
Two punctures on the outward leg delayed our refreshment appointment with Geoff, who made his own way there and back.
PC to PC: 39 miles
Max: 57 miles
Nigel – having a long warm-up before the mountain biking.
Alan – getting away from baby-sitting duties for a while.
The most important feature of this short club run was seeing Geoff on a bike again.
