Four Wheelers managed to get out on Christmas Eve for the penultimate weekend club run of 2016.
The route from the pick up point at Itteringham was through some of the maze of sheltered lanes that are such a feature of this part of Norfolk. Outward bound was via Mannington, Little London, Growle Abbey, Craymere ford, Burnthouse, Nethergate, Guestwick and Kerdiston to Kerry’s Pine Cafe, where the minestrone soup was as thick as a docker’s sandwich.
After the earlier than usual refreshment break, the quartet looped south past Eade’s mill, through the Witchinghams and Hengrave to Haveringland church, Eastgate, Rippon Hall, Brampton and White Cross, before splitting at Skeyton church.
Conditions: Dry with some bright spells. A stiff south-west wind.
PC to PC: 55 miles/ Max: 70 miles.
Merry Christmas to all our readers!
