Club Run, 8/7

For this weekend’s run to South Walsham, seven North Norfolk Wheelers were joined by nippy Hog Hill criterium man, Paul, from the Eagle Road Club.

A brisk tailwind enabled a fairly fast outward ride by way of Brampton, Stratton Strawless, Frettenham, Crostwick, Woodbastwick and Ranworth Broad.

The bunch were entertained at the Kingfisher Cafe by a three man band busking for charity, with a repertoire ranging from Bob Dylan and Cockney Rebel to the Rolling Stones, which was quite appropriate as the musicians were nearly as old as Mick Jagger, although not as wrinkled as Keith Richards. The Wheelers resisted the temptation to dance.

The homeward leg went via Panxworth, Primrose Corner, Granny Bard’s Lane, Coltishall, Skeyton, Felmingham, Alby Common and Thurgarton.

Brian, Geoff, Harvey, Malcolm, Nick, Paul, Robin and Trevor enjoyed another excellent bright and breezy day for cycling.

Basic PC to PC: 64 miles/ Max: 80 miles – (Paul, you will have about 77 miles -> we forgot to add our 4 mile morning detour).
