Despite some fairly dire forecasts, the early and localized rain died out much earlier than anticipated, leaving the early starter seriously overdressed by the time he got to Banningham. Nonetheless, only three Wheelers left the pick up point for the club run to the cafe at Waxham Great Barn, riding by way of Tuttington, Skeyton, Worstead, Dilham church, East Ruston, the southerly route around Brumstead Common, Ingham and Calthorpe Street to the coast road north of Sea Palling. After a shortish break the trio headed back via Lessingham, Happisburgh Hall, Grub Street, Ridlington Street and the Old Hall, where one turned off for home to make the most of invitations to two parties – (late afternoon and evening). The last leg followed the quiet lanes passed Dead Man’s Grave to Trunch, picking up the traditional route to Hanworth Common, Gresham and home.
Some surprisingly good weather was appreciated by Trevor, Geoff and Harvey, who constituted the depleted group for the weekly club run.
