Four Wheelers left the secondary pick-up at Banningham and collected one more at the refreshment stop. The full route to Coltishall was via Blickling Hall, Abbot’s Hall, Burgh Hall, Hainford Hall, Stanninghall and Heggatt Hall. One well-known powerhouse rider shed his fixed sprocket on the approach to the Rising Sun so had to spend part of the break replacing it and tightening the lock ring. The return route looped out east to Belaugh Green and Tunstead church, before heading home by way of Sloley Hall, Scottow, Swanton Hill, Blackwater Corner and Tuttington, where a UD and a dodgy replacement inner tube caused a delay before the five strong bunch headed off in different directions in the fading light.
Conditions: Cold and bright. Early ice on the lanes easing after 10.00. Glazing over again after 2.30 in the stiff cold north-west wind.

Next week: short pre-Christmas club run, picking up on Itteringham bridge.
