Bugs and viruses were thought to be little more than a distant memory, but the ‘Sheringham lurgy’ struck back, so only four Wheelers could make it to the Itteringham pick-up point. The consensus was against sticking to the original schedule, so the quartet headed south-west through Cawston, Sparham, Bylaugh and Swanton Morley to the always friendly Daisy Tearoom at Hoe. Malcolm generously bought the cakes from his recently acquired hard-earned bonus. The generally wind-assisted return run was round the back ways to Eastgate, Pennyspot, Elsing, Fustyweed and Easthaugh, crossing the Wensum at Attlebridge and then on through Felthorpe Woods to the Ratcatcher’s, Cawston, Abel Heath and Aylsham for the split in the bunch. – Huge numbers of people on bikes were spotted today.
Weather; Beautiful bright late winter day with a south-south-westerly shifting south and freshening.
Robin, Malcolm, Harvey and Brian were the reduced bunch this week.
Mileages: – from 53 to 72.
