Seven riders made an early start for the run out to the posh pie shop. On a marvellously mild and bright day with a strong south westerly, Geoff led the group by way of North Barningham, Baconsthorpe, Briston, Hindolveston and the Snorings. The pies weren’t worth the bother (if Scott is reading this). It was plain sailing for the tailwind return route via Hindringham, Brinton, Stody, Edgefield Cross Street, Bodham Hill, West Beckham and Upper Sheringham. Brian, in puritanical mood, then led the rump of the bunch up the steep banks of Cranfield Road, down Common Lane, along the coast road to West Runton and up Beacon Hill, before finishing off down the Lion’s Mouth, Sustead, Thurgarton and Aldborough.

One puncture – (front tyre deflating slowly between Walsingham and Sharrington).
