The riders assembled at Pretty Corner in bright and breezy conditions for another run down to Tabnabs at Mattishall, but by a totally different route. The morning ride went by way of Corpusty, Tyby, Guestwick, Themelthorpe, Foxley, Bylaugh, Swanton Morley Greengate, Mowles Manor, the Stone Road and Clint Green. The arrival of the NNW bunch coincided with the departure of the ‘Cake Crusader’ (of the eponymous website/blog), so we didn’t have time to get his on the spot reaction to the fare; not that we would have taken much notice as he is a hot chocolate drinker. The refreshment break in the courtyard was marked by a cold grey and windy spell, but the sun reappeared in time for the homeward trip. The bunch then headed initially south through Runhall and Brandon Parva before turning north and north east via Welborne, East Tuddenham, The Lodge, Elsing Hall, Peaseland Green, Primrose Green, Collin Green, Attleborough, Swannington Upgate, Haveringland, Cawston, Oulton Street (crossing a group of 10 from a Nottinghamshire club) and Itteringham, where a couple of Wheelers extended the day with a casual cup of coffee, while the rest split off in different directions for a rather later than usual homecoming.
Bunch: Neil; Malcolm; Jack; Harvey; Graham J; Graham A; Brian.
Pretty Corner to Pretty Corner was about 69 miles, but most did more.
