Even if blustery showers weren’t forecast they certainly happened and one of them in particular nearly sent the 4 Wheelers back to PC as they pedalled down Gibbet Lane at the start of Malcolm’s run to Reepham. Best wishes for a speedy recovery to an injured Alan who was due to be leader for today.
A straight path to Itteringham and then the climb to the Blickling Road by which time the group was feeling pretty wet and windswept. With the prospect of side and headwinds as far as Foulsham but at least drier and sunnier conditions later on Malcolm checked that everyone was okay to follow his planned route. So onwards we went via Oulton, Heydon Park, Crabgate, Thurning, Hindolveston, Foulsham, Themelthorpe and to the B1145 to take us into Reepham.
By the time we sat down for lunch we had dried out and enjoyed the usual great service from the staff at Kerri’s. As we were about to leave another pesky shower arrived but this proved to be short lived as we made our way towards Briston. Kevin punctured before Wood Dalling but we were soon on our way and continued via Thurning (deja vu) to Briston, Edgefield and Barningham Green. At the junction of Plum Lane and Barningham Road there was a two way split as one half headed for Gresham and homewards while the other half returned to PC in far sunnier conditions and far drier roads than earlier in the day.
Many thanks for the company – a good ride out.
